The Comox Valley Marine Rescue Society and Station #60 Comox of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue have recently taken delivery of a new fast response rescue vessel built in Port Alberni, B.C. by Kamma & Blake Industries Ltd. The 37′ RHIB is named the Cape Lazo. The previous rescue boat, the Bruce Brown II, has been donated to the RCM-SAR, Sooke, BC

The new Falkins Class II vessel is powered by Twin 6 cylinder jet propulusion engines, producing 870hp and comes with state-of-the-art electronics including FLIR.

Self-righting capabilities and a larger cabin will make this one of the safest fast-response rescue vessels on the Salish Sea.
